Our Story
Hi! I’m Melissa Tan, the illustrator behind Paintinks by Melt. I have an endless love for animals and absolutely no regard for perspective—which is probably why my art looks the way it does: a little whimsical, a little wonky, and (hopefully) a lot delightful.
My paintings are inspired by real lives, real pets, and real love.
Outside the studio, I work with children and youth with special needs. I hold a degree in psychology and have worked in this field for over 20 years. More recently, I’ve also become a certified personal trainer, with a special focus on helping children with special needs become fitter and feel more confident.
Whether through art or movement, my goal is always the same—to bring a little more joy, connection, and colour into the world.
My art has travelled further than I ever expected—from Singapore to Australia and even New York! Every time a piece finds a new home, I set aside a portion of the proceeds for causes I care about.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to illustrate for some pretty cool brands like Samsung, Uniqlo, and Starbucks. I’ve also teamed up with charities like the Breast Cancer Foundation, Cat Welfare Society, and Hong Kong Dog Rescue to support the good work they do.
